Registering Your Gear — With or Without a Serial Number

Gear with a legible serial number can be registered directly through our secure online form. Enter the data required and upload the photos.

Gear without a serial number may also be registered if it was purchased from a retailer or manufacturer and proof of purchase (such as a receipt or bill of sale) is available.

A one-time fee of $4.99 applies for items without a serial number. This fee includes:

  • A unique registry ID

  • A printed ID label for your skis or snowboard

  • Shipping and handling of the label

Label Information
We use TZe Strong Adhesive tape, designed for harsh outdoor environments and textured surfaces. The label is durable and resistant to scrapes, abrasions, water, fading, sunlight, heat, and cold.

How to Order a Special ID (No Serial Number)

  1. Create an account

  2. Order a Special ID

  3. Select View Cart, then Proceed to Checkout

  4. Before placing your order, select “Add a note to your order” and include:

    • Your email address

    • A note requesting contact to provide proof of purchase

  5. Once proof of purchase is verified, your Special ID will be issued, and the printed label will be mailed to you.

  6. After applying the label to your skis or snowboard, complete your registration by uploading the required photos:

    • One photo showing the full item

    • One photo showing the item with the Special ID label clearly visible

Why This Matters

This process ensures your gear remains searchable and traceable within the Ski Board Registry if it is ever missing, lost, or stolen.

Label Application Tips

For best results, apply the label to a smooth area on the top sheet near the binding, where it will experience minimal interference.

  • Clean the area with rubbing alcohol and allow it to dry

  • Peel the backing without touching the adhesive (tweezers help)

  • Apply firm pressure several times to ensure proper adhesion

  • If the surface is textured, applying a thin layer of clear nail polish and allowing it to dry first can help create a smoother base for the label.
